Jet fuel contained in the various metals contained in the air escaping into the air, constitute an important factor in air pollution. To this end, the authors compared the levels of some metals in dog bodies living in airport and non-airport zones. Twenty dogs, ages 3-6, were divided into two groups of 10 animals each. The first group is captured at the neighboring Osaka International Airport; the second group is captured at Nishinomiya City, about 7 km southwest of the airport. Two groups of dogs were killed under anesthesia and blood, heart, lung, liver, kidney, spleen and ribs were analyzed for seven metals (aluminum, copper, lead, manganese, nickel, vanadium and zinc). As a result, there was no significant difference in macroscopic examination of organs in both groups. The metal content of the two groups of dogs is shown in the table.
