作者温家立报道,莱州953是莱州市农科所于1980年经复合杂交,采用系谱法选育而成.1988～1989年度中在烟台市品种联合试验中平均亩产464公斤,居10个品种之冠.1989年在黄淮冬麦区预试中表现突出,烟台点亩产437.3公斤.1989～1990年全国小麦高产育种协作攻关组组织的黄淮冬麦区品种联合试验,亩产平均430.11公斤,其中河北试验最高亩产达597.26公斤.省内外小麦专家认为:莱州953综合性状优异,丰产潜力大,是当前大穗型品种中的佼佼者,应加速推广应用.烟台市政府已将其作为吨粮田小麦攻关田品种.麦收后全国20多家报刊报道
