2007年教育部修订的《大学英语课程教学要求》明确规定:大学英语教学新模式应以现代信息技术,特别是网络技术为支撑,使英语教学不受时间和地点的限制,朝着个性化学习、自主式学习方向发展。从外语学习的角度来看,英语写作是体现学生外语语用能力的一个重要方面,由于其综合性较强,所以一直以来也是英语教学中的薄弱环节。虽然这种局面早已引起重视,许多专家、学者和外语教师也作出了不少努力,但学生的写作能力始终未能达到预期的目标,离教学大纲的规定相去甚远。
