(BTER) is a merocyanine dye whose full name is 3-ethyl-5- [2- (3-ethyl-2-benzothiazolinylene) ethylidene] rhodanine. It has been reported before its polycrystalline and electronic properties, as well as the structure of the evaporation film morphology, crystal orientation on the photoelectric properties. Such cyanine dyes have been used as optical sensitizers for photographic materials and may serve as materials for solar cells, non-linear optical and molecular circuits. This article reports the structure of the BTER solution film and its photoelectrochemical properties.
