林克昌,1928年出生于印尼雅加达。1946年进入阿姆斯特丹音乐学院,四年后获得小提琴荣誉文凭,随后获巴黎音乐学院奖学金前往该校深造,并师从小提琴大师埃内斯库。此后在欧洲、亚洲各地指挥音乐会,赢得了广泛的国际声誉。1959年任北京中央广播交响乐团首席指挥、任教中央音乐学院。1968年任香港爱乐管弦乐团首任音乐总监。1973年,林克昌被收入世界弦乐演奏家第二辑。1976年移居澳大利亚,任昆士兰交响乐团独奏,并在多家音乐学院任教。1995年,任台北市交响乐团音乐总监。
Lin Kechang, born in 1928 in Jakarta, Indonesia. In 1946 to enter the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music, four years after obtaining a violin honorary diploma, followed by the Paris Conservatory of Music scholarship to go to the school, and under the violin master Enescu. Since then, he has directed concerts all over Europe and Asia and won a wide international reputation. In 1959 he served as chief conductor of Beijing Central Radio Symphony Orchestra, teaching the Central Conservatory of Music. 1968 Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's first music director. In 1973, Lin Kechang was included in the second series of world string musicians. He moved to Australia in 1976 as Soloist of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and taught at several conservatories. In 1995, he served as music director of Taipei Symphony Orchestra.
