铅锌矿中大多含有汞,在烧结过程中汞以蒸气形式进入SO_2烟气,其大部分最终进入硫酸。当硫酸应用到工业中,便产生二次污染。为回收制酸烟气中的汞,1981年韶关冶炼厂和广州有色冶金设计研究院合作,成功地完成了碘汞络合——电解还原回收制酸烟气中的汞的工业试验。五年的生产实践表明:该工艺基本是先进的,但也存在某些问题;水平槽汞电积便是问题之一。
