2001年1月10日,世界最大的互联网服务商美国在线(AOL)并购最大的媒体公司时代-华纳,暗示着人类社会在走入新千年的同时也真正进入了网络时代。网络时代的最大特点是:信息的传播方式已经改变。传统的信息传播方式主要有两种:一种是有形的纸,人们通过它阅读,获取信息;另一种是无形的广播电视,接收信息是单向和被动的。而网络传播的最大特点就是交互性,还有全球性、开放性、个性化、跨媒体性、廉价性等。毫无疑问,21世纪是一个网络的世纪。
On January 10, 2001, Warner, the era of the largest media company acquired by AOL, the world’s largest Internet service provider, implied that while entering a new millennium, human society has really entered the Internet age. The most important feature of the Internet age is that the way information is transmitted has changed. The traditional methods of information dissemination are mainly two kinds: one is the visible paper, through which people read and obtain information; the other is invisible radio and television, receiving information is one-way and passive. The most important feature of network communication is interactive, as well as global, open, personalized, cross-media, cheap and so on. There is no doubt that the 21st century is a century of networking.
