西方唯美主义除偏重自然、常态美之外,还特别强调从“丑恶”中挖掘美,认为丑恶的真实比自欺的满足更有价值。谷崎润一郎和郁达夫两位作家都深受此种主张影响,在作品中以其怪异的笔触揭示恋物癖者的变态心理,希冀从“丑恶”中挖掘出别样的“唯美”。郁达夫的此类作品深受谷崎润一郎等日本作家的影响,但由于中国文化所给予他的“修身、齐家、治国、平天下”志向,使其作品的现实意义更高。
In addition to focusing on nature and normal beauty, Western aestheticism places special emphasis on the discovery of beauty from “ugly ”, believing that ugliness is more valuable than self-deception. Both Tanizaki and Yu Dafu are deeply influenced by such ideas, revealing the abnormal psychology of fetishists with their weird strokes in their works, hoping to dig out the different kind of “aesthetic ”. Such works by Yu Dafu are deeply influenced by Japanese writers such as Junichiro Tanizaki, but due to the Chinese culture, his work is more realistic in the sense of “self-cultivation, common prosperity, governing the country and equality in the world”.
