【正】西方通常都将英国湖畔派诗人柯尔律治的《古舟子咏》、《克丽斯塔贝尔》、《忽必烈汗》这三大诗作相提并论,称之为魔幻诗或超自然诗,对它们极力赞扬,推崇备至.布鲁克(Stopford Brooke)有一句常被人引用的名言很能说明这一点:柯尔律治全部美妙的诗篇可以装钉在二十页中,但是,应该全部用纯金.当代有影响的批评家奈特更是别出心裁,把这三首诗称为柯尔律治的“神曲”,认为它们分别与意大利著名诗人但丁《神曲》中的《净界》、《地狱》、《天堂》相当.概括地说,对柯氏魔幻诗不加分析批判而一味颂扬是西方评论的通病.
