作为翻译研究和现代女权运动发展的产物,西方女性主义翻译理论带有鲜明的政治色彩,即解构男性及原作的文化霸权地位。该理论强调翻译的目的性,突显了译者的主体地位,颠覆了传统翻译理论中对于“忠实”标准、原作与译作及作者与译者地位关系等观点,为西方翻译学研究开辟了崭新的视角,尤其对女性译者的翻译风格产生巨大影响。但在对翻译领域做出颠覆性贡献的同时,其局限性也不可避免。
