Many experimental animals, including mice, rabbits, dogs, monkeys infected with schistosomiasis after infection has some resistance to infection, vaccination by c rays or X-ray irradiation weakened cercariae after a considerable degree of immunity appears. Some authors report that immunization with adult extracts or adult excretion-secretagogues and cercariae extracts also has some effect, but some trials report that immunization is completely ineffective.
