传统观念认为教学应该以教材为中心,教材是知识积累的精华,具有权威性,教师在教学中以教材为本,教师要吃透教材、教好教材,学生要学好教材。但随着教育实践的一步步发展,该种传统的教材主义观已经过时,随之而来的是新兴的教材功能观。新教材功能观认为,教材的作用不仅仅是传授知识,应该还包括教会学生理解学习过程,掌握学习方法。
