聚丙烯酰胺是得到广泛应用的一种高分子水溶性絮凝剂。有关絮凝机理的研究,国内外较为重视。在水解聚丙烯酰胺HPAM絮凝濛脱土的过程中,Sommerauer等认为:Ca~(2+)的作用是与PAM中—COONa基团生成稳定的—COOCa~+基团,较好地起絮凝作用。在含有一定量的HPAM、Na~+、濛脱土的样品溶液中,加入不同浓度的CaCl_2到一定浓度时,就开始絮凝。在达到絮凝状态时,加入的总钙量与生成的—COOCa~+以及自由Ca~(2+)量之间有一定比例关系。通过测定絮凝过程中自由Ca~(2+)浓度(或活度)的变化,即可研究确定其他关系。
