王弼通过注释《老子》一书对老子的古今观念进行了改造。他改变了老子崇古抑今的态度,在崇本息末、以无为本思想诉求下对古今做到了真正的等而视之。但王弼在提出不迷信前人陈说的同时也注意对古代的探究。他认为只有做到对事物发展开端了熟于心,才能揭示事物的根源。同时在方法论上他又非常重视从当前出发来证实初始,从初始入手来把握近在眼前的事物,最后达到对事物规律的认识。王弼较前人应该是更为合理地处理了古今问题,这可以视为王弼玄学的又一重要贡献。
By annotating “Lao Tzu”, Wang Bi made a reformation of Laozi’s ancient and modern concepts. He changed the attitude of Lao Tzu in ancient and modern times. At the end of the period of Chongsheng and Kuanshi, he pursued true and equal views of ancient and modern China with the non-aspirational demands. However, Wang Bi did not blindly believe in his predecessors Chen said at the same time also pay attention to the ancient inquiry. He believes that only by doing something familiar with the development of things can reveal the root causes of things. At the same time he also attaches great importance to methodology from the current starting to confirm the initial, from the initial start to grasp the things in sight, and finally reached the understanding of the laws of things. Wang Bi should be more reasonable than the previous treatment of the ancient and modern issues, which can be regarded as another important contribution to Wang Bi’s metaphysics.
