Based on the phenomenological characteristics of the flow stress curve and the traditional theory of the constitutive equation, a new mathematical model describing the high temperature deformation stress-strain curve was developed for high niobium microalloyed steels. The model includes two basic equations, establishes the mathematical relationship between stress and strain, temperature and deformation rate, and predicts the change of flow stress during each stage of work-hardening and dynamic recrystallization. The predicted result is in good agreement with the experimental results.
