孝是儒家重要的道德哲学范畴,儒家孝道对人和动植物生命价值的十分重视,并在强调修身养性、克制欲望、勤俭节省的基础上,从自我生态、社会生态和自然生态三个方面对生态伦理进行了系统构架。儒家的孝道文化以孝亲为圆心、以爱有差等的仁爱精神为半径,不断地将孝道思想延伸推广出去仁爱人民和万物,而“仁民”和“爱物”则是孝放大了的同心圆。由此,儒家孝道最终把宇宙万物都纳入了人伦之孝的道德共同体范围之内,对当今生态伦理构建和社会主义生态文明建设有着重要的启发意义。
