On November 17, 1984, an ice cube came from the sky and crashed into the wheat field (“Umemura Falling Ice”) in Chen Sanfang Village, Mei Village, Xishan City (formerly Wuxi County). Site and relevant departments to investigate the exclusion of human causes, meteorological causes and the possibility of coming from the plane. Preliminary results of experimental studies of ice-falling samples suggest that it differs from the Earth’s material and is similar to extra-terrestrial material, which favors the idea that the ice falls from the outside, perhaps from comets. In-depth studies of ice fall may have significant implications for revealing the nature of comets, exploring water resources and related geological, meteorological and astronomical issues.
