The James II Party movement was a series of loyalist acts in support of the resumption of the throne of King James II and his descendants after the Glorious Revolution, which had a great impact on the political situation in Britain and on European international relations. Based on the development of political processes in Britain after 1688, this article explores the influence of the James II movement on the political situation in the United Kingdom, and in particular the merger between England and Scotland in 1707. In addition, this article combines the relationship between the James II Party and the European powers to analyze why the movement gradually declined.
