模糊限制语是指有意使用的不明朗或模糊的语言表达形式,是语言学中一个独特的语言现象。本文通过分析英语课堂上教师使用模糊限制语的情况,从会话原则的角度出发,提出了模糊限制语在教师课堂用语中的四个语用功能:缓和提问语气、增强教师用语的可信度、委婉纠错鼓励回答以及保持教师课堂用语的连贯性。
Hedges refer to the uncertain or vague linguistic expressions that are intended to be used and are a unique linguistic phenomenon in linguistics. By analyzing teachers’ use of hedges in English classroom, this paper proposes four pragmatic functions of hedges in classroom teachers’ terms from the perspective of conversational principles: easing the tone of questions, enhancing the credibility of teachers’ Euphemize and correct mistakes Encourage answering and maintaining the coherence of teachers’ classroom expressions.
