X-ray qualitative phase analysis is one of the most commonly used techniques in X-ray diffraction laboratories and is an important means of identifying phases in industrial production and scientific research. Depending on the line position and relative intensity of the diffraction pattern, it is convenient to compare a standard card (powder diffraction card set, commonly known as ASTM card) to a simpler sample (with only one or two phases) for qualitative phase analysis.
