我市地处杭州湾南岸,宁绍平原北部。全市辖8个区,16个镇(其中1个区级镇,15个乡级镇),49个乡,797个行政村,67个居委会。1990年底全市总人口95万人,其中农业人口84万人,占88％。全市有市级医疗卫生单位8个,区级医疗单位10个,乡级医疗单位56个,共有卫生技术人员1839人,每千人口有卫技人员1.9人;有村卫生室604家,共有从业人员713人,平均每个行政村有卫生保健人员0.9人,有个体诊所204家,从业人员共214人。
The city is located on the south bank of Hangzhou Bay and north of Ningshao Plain. The city administers 8 districts, 16 towns (including 1 district-level town, 15 township-level towns), 49 townships, 797 administrative villages, and 67 neighborhood committees. By the end of 1990, the city had a total population of 950,000, of which the agricultural population was 840,000, accounting for 88%. There are 8 city-level medical and health units, 10 district-level medical units, and 56 township-level medical units. There are 1839 medical and technical personnel. There are 1.9 health technicians per 1,000 population. There are 604 village clinics. There are 713 employees. On average, each administrative village has 0.9 health care personnel, 204 individual clinics, and 214 employees.
