1981年——国际残疾人年,日本第一个玩具图书馆在日本三鹰市诞生。它作为日本国际残疾人年十年计划的活动之一,如雨后春笋般在日本全国各地、乡村、城镇推广开来,现在已约有四百余所。玩具图书与其他图书馆不同,其主要是收藏和利用玩具。日本玩具图书馆以玩具为媒介,吸引不同年龄的儿童和各种残疾的儿童们自由游戏。通过玩具游戏,体验丰富的知识,结识新伙伴,从而使残疾儿童感受人生的乐趣,培养他们的爱心,增进人与人之间的理解和爱护。这是日本玩具图书馆办馆的宗旨。
1981 - International Year of Persons with Disabilities, Japan’s first toy library was born in Mitaka, Japan. As one of the activities planned for the Decade of Disabled Persons in Japan, it has popularized in various parts of Japan, in rural areas and in cities and towns in Japan. It has now reached about 400. Toy books and other libraries different, its main collection and use of toys. The Toy Museum of Japan uses toys as a medium to attract children of all ages and children with various disabilities to play freely. Through toy games, experience rich knowledge, meet new partners, so that children with disabilities feel the joy of life, develop their love, enhance mutual understanding and love. This is the purpose of Japan Toy Library Office.
