机器人在维修业的应用落后于其他行业,但目前有越来越多的企业和研究机构已经开始了探索之路。对机器人在航空维修业应用的现实性和前景存在两种观点,一种观点认为技术上尚不成熟,美国桑地亚国家实验室的能量系统和机器人中心把它比作处于7级技术成熟度中的4～6级之间,而机器人系统只有达到7级才能够在生产上使用。
