Beijing, China In mid-August 1987, more than 300 Chinese-language teachers, scholars and experts from 19 countries all over the world gathered together to hold the 2nd International Conference on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language to study how foreigners, overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese Problems of Chinese teaching for children.
