Based on the experience of the French Revolution, Marx and Engels laid down a strategy of continuous revolution for the German revolution of 1848, that is, the continuation of the socialist revolution after the completion of the democratic revolution, which marks the beginning of a scientific exploration of the socialist road to economic and cultural backwardness. Marx has undergone two changes in the division of phases of the continuous revolution in Germany, and has formed three modes. Marx’s continuous revolutionary strategy is closely linked with his idea of world revolution. Marx’s thinking on the continuous revolution in Germany has not been realized. Analyzing the difficulties in realizing this vision helps us understand some basic problems facing the socialist countries in the backward countries.
