Book sales in emerging markets such as Brazil, South Africa and New Zealand switched from positive growth in 2015 to negative growth, while the share of the British and American e-books in the overall book market continued to decline. Compared with 2015, the global book market in 2016 showed a sluggish overall performance, and the book market in many countries and regions plunged into negative growth.
