This article describes a pulsed radar operation that uses a long launch waveform (above 200 microseconds) and achieves high Doppler resolution. It relies on the information generated by a single shot and can be used in situations such as strong clutter caused by rain or unusual propagation In the detection of fast moving target. By including pulse compression components in the waveform, the problem of poor range resolving power inherent to this method can be mitigated.
