The recovery and rise of Japan’s post-World War II economy have largely benefited from the more complete and developed economic legislation. Among the many economic laws and regulations, the most important and fundamental one is the “anti-monopoly law” promulgated in 1947. This famous Codex full name is “Law on Prohibiting Private Monopolies and Ensuring Fair Trade.” It was ratified by the last Imperial Parliament under the old Japanese Constitution on March 31, 1947 (Showa 22) and released on April 14.
