业已确定,氮化(添加或不添加含碳气体的气体氮化、离子氮化等)可提高切削工具的耐磨性,但这些氮化方法均具有成本高、设备使用复杂、生产率低等缺点。因此,利用无毒的氰酸盐和碳酸盐进行工具钢碳氮低温液体饱和的工艺无疑有其优越性。这类工艺方法在苏联称作《氰化》,在西德称之为—1,在美国称之为,其他国家也有应用。据资料报导,在许多国家的工厂里,已有大量液体饱和装置投入使用,这证明这类工艺方法安全性好,成本低廉。
