At noon, I returned to the dormitory from school. Leningrad in winter, the streets covered with snow, meandering in the urban area of the river with thick ice, small bridges and street lamps with classical colors are also full of silver. Fresh air, clean, comfortable. This day is December 27, 1954. Along the way, I kept thinking: Mom should come! She was invited to attend the second Soviet Union Writers Congress in Moscow these days. She sent a letter telling me that she will come to Leningrad in the future and urge me to study peacefully instead of going to the train station to pick her up. She will notify me when she arrives. Yesterday I heard from the broadcast that the congress has ended. I came to Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute in August 1953 and have not seen her for a year and a half.
