  奢华,这个被我们过度消费的词语,用来形容杜塞尔多夫的嘉佩乐酒店的时候,不禁有点踌躇和词穷。奢华,本不该是堆砌在托斯卡纳石材里满屋子的品牌家俬,也非竭尽铺张之能事的纸醉金迷。奢华应该是与时俱进的、私人的、走在时代前沿的;是一种生活态度,更是对经典的传承、尊重和发展。
  At first, I was hesitant to use the over-consumed word “luxury” to describe the Capella Hotel in Dusseldorf. Luxury should not mean a room full of brand furniture piled up next to four Tuscany stonewalls, nor does it stand for the mere practice of extravagance and dissipation. Luxury should convey advancement with the times, both private and cutting-edge; it is a way of life showing the heritage, respect and development of the Classic.

  The founder of Capella Hotel and former president of the The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Mr. Horst Schulze, is a legendary hotelier who keeps up with time. This 14-year-old boy from rural Germany started his career from the hotel doorman to achieve the role of global industry leader. Now after 10 years of retirement, he founded the luxury Boutique management brand Capella Hotel in his first comeback. The brand inherited the Ritz Carlton service concept, promoting the development of breakthrough and innovation of personal service. Capella Hotel is unique, ahead of time, warm and unforgettable. It has the feel of a home, a trump card Schulze held firmly in his hands after years of hotel management experience.
  For two hundred and ten years, Capella hotel remained the ultimate address in luxury and hospitality, located in the southwest of Germany in downtown Düsseldorf, near the River Rhine. First founded in 1806 by a successful businessman, Capella was a luxury hotel built only for the nobility. In 1943 during a major bombing raid, the hotel was totally destroyed, however, under the hands of expert hotelier, it continued to shine for decades. In 2006 the hotel was again eventually torn down and rebuilt by its new family owners from abroad. In 2008, through the discerning eyes of Mr. Schulze, the hotel celebrated its proud comeback as the Breidenbacher Hof, a Capella Hotel.   在我入住酒店的前三天,就已经收到酒店“我的私人助理”的邮件,询问有何特别的旅行、居住或饮食的要求或安排;当我风尘仆仆从机场搭乘出租车抵达这个当地最奢华酒店的时候,酒店行李员仿佛有线人通报般的,又仿佛熟识般的招呼和迎接我:“朱小姐,欢迎抵达嘉佩乐酒店。”我的姓的发音很正确!当我步入酒店大堂,顿时受到如同中国公主驾临般的欢迎…. 真诚而不矫情,热情得恰到好处;酒店市场总监亲自陪同到房间,解说房间及设施使用,我被这种真正的私人服务所折服,那感觉,坦白说,仿佛远嫁贵夫的女儿回到娘家,温暖而恰到好处,分寸拿捏得非常恰当。大概这就是丽思卡尔顿一直崇尚的“绅士服务绅士”的奢华精神。
  Three days before my check in, I have received message from "my personal assistant" from the hotel, asking if I had any special requirements or arrangements regarding my travel, living and diet; when I arrived at the hotel from the airport by taxi with much fatigue, the butler came welcoming me most fervently as if someone gave him a tip-off beforehand. "Miss Zhu, welcome to Capella hotel." he greeted, and my last name was correctly pronounced! When I entered the hotel lobby, I was immediately welcomed as a Chinese Princess... the reception was sincere, not pretentious and full of enthusiasm that is not over-the-top! I was escorted to the hotel room by the marketing director, who explained to me personally the room and its facilities, I was deeply impressed by this private service, and frankly the treatment feels like the home-coming of a daughter who married well and faraway, a warming appropriateness filled my heart. As Ritz Carlton's spirit of luxury goes, "We are Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen." And that has most likely happened here.
  大隐隐于市An Urban Hermit

  Located in the city's most bustling center, although the hotel has been through war, the reconstruction of the architectural appearance and internal structure remained faithful to the original design some 210 years ago, adhering to its long history without much change. The hotel interior uses a collection of carefully selected high-grade interior materials, classic furniture and decoration art, the overall low-key style is presented consistently both on the inside and outside of the hotel, emitting an elegant, classic and comfortable feel. The apartment style suites, located on the 7-9 floor, are composed of magnificent decor, clever layout, flexible and efficient functional zoning and an interior design with lavish details; it shows that the designer's deep understanding of the connotation of luxury and the ability to fully demonstrate the essence of European culture and art, have certainly become the indispensable part of interior design.   The hotel is a fully equipped luxury boutique hotel with 80 rooms. In addition to restaurant and bar, the underground floor is provided with a spa and swimming pool. The most interesting fact is that there is a small clinic hidden in the hotel, to provide world-class physical vitality maintenance experience. Because of its ingenious privacy, many Hollywood stars and celebrities chose to stay here. This is also the hotel where most stars visited aside from the politicians, and the hotel's senior marketing director, a beautiful and professional lady, Germann Britta, told us so.

  I remembered reading a recent interview of Mr. Schulze, and some of his views I agree with very much. Mr. Schultz noted that the luxury hotel market is a never-changing market, and he predicted that the luxury hotel will form two major trends in the next few years, a traditional type of luxury hotel, such as the four seasons, the Ritz Carlton, of which the general public can also enjoy; and another type of ultra-luxury hotel, such as Capella Hotel; and what ultra-luxury is should be defined by the customer. The requirement would certainly include customer experience, highly personalized service, and continual drive to excel at hundreds of years' of practice, and then bring it all back to the service, so the hotel and guests benefit, and such is the inevitable trend of sustainable development of the hotel.

This year, the Osman emperor Abdulaziz stopped attending to his proper duties, he tore down the ancestors' palace, schools and mosques and built his own palace facing the Strait of Bosporus and backed by hills. This is also the last imperial palace of the whole Osman empire: Ciragan palace.
  诞生-破茧-重生The Birth and Rebirth
  “塞拉宫”这个名字源于当地一个著名的传统娱乐节日塞拉节(Ciragan Festival),用汉语很难发音,用欧洲语系的发音念出来当地人也根本听不懂,在波斯语里则是light spreading(祈福之光)的意思。历经8载春秋,塞拉宫完成于1871年。直至1876年苏丹阿卜杜拉赛斯被发现毒死在这里,可怜他也没有在里面住过一天。
  1876年前后,塞拉宫发生过两件大事,一是拿破仑三世的皇后欧仁妮(Eugenie de Montijo)路过此地去参加苏伊士运河开通仪式,成为这儿接待的第一位名人。据说欧仁妮皇后跟苏丹阿卜杜拉赛斯还有一段绯闻;二是议会在这里宣布成立,开启奥斯曼第二次君主立宪制。
  1910年,塞拉宫着了一场大火,内部精美的木制装修全部烧掉,但外墙完好无损。1989年,一个有眼光的日本公司买下废弃几十年的塞拉宫,随即在1992年对其维修、扩建,引进德国的凯宾斯基酒店品牌,变成现在著名的为数不多的“世界历史酒店”成员,也成为CNN Go评选的全球15个最昂贵酒店中的第14个。酒店大堂边的走廊两侧贴满1990和2000年代光顾过这里的全世界顶级政要和艺术家的照片,大部分的称谓不是陛下、殿下,就是阁下。
  The name "Ciragan Palace" originated from a local famous traditional entertainment festival called Ciragan Festival. Not only is it difficult to make its pronunciation in Chinese, but the European pronunciation also eludes the local people. In Persian, it means "light spreading (blessed light)". After eight years of construction, the Ciragan palace was completed in 1871. Until 1876 Abdulaziz was found poisoned here, poor was he who did not live in this palace for a single day.
  Around 1876, two major events happened in the Ciragan palace. First event was that the queen of Napoleon III, Eugenie de Montijo, passed through here to go to the Suez Canal opening ceremony, who then became the first celebrity being received here. It is said that the queen and Abdulaziz had an affair; second was that the parliament was established here and marked the beginning of the second Osman monarchy.
  In 1910, Ciragan palace caught a fire, which burnt down all the interior of the fine wooden decoration, though the outer wall remained intact. In 1989, a visionary Japanese company bought the Ciragan palace; in 1992, they proceeded with the maintenance and expansion, and introduced the German hotel brand Kempinski. Now this palace has become one of the few "World History Hotel" members, and was also elected as the 14th of the 15 most expensive global hotels award on CNN Go. The lobby of the hotel on both sides are covered with the photos of the world's top politicians and artists during 1990s and 2000s, most of the titles being Your Highness, Your Majesty and Sir.   宝颜家族出场The Balyan Family
  塞拉宫由亚美尼亚建筑师尼古卡尤斯·宝颜(Nigogayos Balyan)设计,他的两个儿子负责建造。宝颜家族的九位建筑设计师于18和19世纪为帝国六代苏丹服务过,对奥斯曼建筑的西方化发挥了主要作用,留下大量建筑杰作。他们一改传统圆拱、尖塔的奥斯曼通俗建筑风格,转向富丽堂皇、雕饰豪华、注重对称的巴洛克特色,但又保留了拱窗、多几何图案的伊斯兰风格,特别是建筑外窗下标准的钟乳结构造型。这有别于摩洛哥和伊朗的钟乳结构,是奥斯曼独有的装饰。
  Ciragan Palace is designed by the Armenia architect Nigogayos Balyan, and built by his two sons. In the 18th and 19th Century, the 9th architect in the Balyan family served the 6th Sultan of the Empire, and for this reason, a large number of architectural masterpieces were preserved due to the Westernization of the Osman architecture. They changed the traditional features, such as circular arch, steeple the popular Osman architectural style, and turned to the magnificent, luxurious decoration that focuses on symmetrical Baroque features, but they also kept the arch window, geometric patterns of Islamic style, especially the standard stalactite shape under the window on the outside building. This decoration is different from the Morocco and Iran stalactite structure, and is unique only to the Osman.
  修旧如旧的新皇宫Returning to the Glorious Olden Days
  宝颜家族设计的最有代表性的建筑当属新皇宫多尔玛巴赫切宫(Dolmabah?e Palace),就在塞拉宫隔壁,而海峡边的欧塔寇清真寺(Ortak?y)和这座宫殿也近在咫尺。新皇宫的富丽堂皇程度堪比凡尔赛宫,主殿里一盏当时维多利亚女王赠送的重4.5吨的巨大水晶灯,现在还是全世界第二大,据说女王为了保持世界第一,又下令制造了重5吨的另一个,至今还挂在白金汉宫里。新宫殿依然是大酒店,内部装饰是凯宾斯基接手以后完成的,最近一次翻修是2007年。装修风格既古朴又大气,真是修旧如旧。
  墙面上没有彰显现代奢华的雕饰,只挂了些老油画,绿色大理石立柱更衬托着大殿的高雅,古风斑驳耐人寻味。从一层到三层通透的中央高大天花下也装了一个巨大的土豪吊灯,告诉人们不要忘记老宫殿昔日的辉煌。天井的四周和上下楼的扶手栏杆垂直方向上安装了间隔很密的玻璃材质的曲面造型,由于殿堂采光充足,玻璃柱既透光又闪亮,配合着两端和中间金黄色隔断,让人叹服设计者的用心。楼层间墙面上的石膏和大理石雕刻图案尽显传统土耳其风格,角落中会客区沙发脚下的精美手工地毯,更使人坐在这里就强烈地感觉到正身处有别欧洲的另一个世界。
  宫殿二层面对海峡一侧改造成了一个传统土耳其餐厅,菜点的精美和服务水平不亚于巴黎的米其林星级餐馆。坐在皇宫阳台上的餐桌边,背靠着古朴的罗马柱,欣赏着海峡对岸的美景,品尝着经典的奥斯曼菜肴,你会不会也产生想当苏丹的感觉?难怪政要们更喜欢来这里下榻,主宰欲大概人皆有之,只不过名人的虚荣感更强些罢了。大殿外与酒店新楼之间是一方占地两公顷有余的硕大广场,草坪、露天餐厅、游泳池、茶座散落其中,夏天晚上客人络绎不绝,一直喧嚣到后半夜。
  走进新旧两楼的连廊,你至少需要驻足半个小时:两侧满布的玻璃橱窗里贴满着古旧照片和名人肖像画,述说着塞拉宫及其主人们的历史,包括大火前宫殿内的奢侈装修,墙面上精美的奥斯曼土耳其风格雕饰历历在目;依照原样恢复的大理石立柱;当年救火的场面,以及一百年前塞拉宫的消防水龙头......老建筑难以留存,除了木制结构易燃外,消防无措恐怕也是一个原因。
  The signature architectural design of the Balyan family is the new palace, Dolmabah?e Palace, located next to the Ciragan palace, near by Ortak?y the mosque. The extravagance of the new palace can be equalled to the Versailles palatial palace. Queen Victoria has bestowed a gift of 4.5-ton giant crystal chandelier, now still the second largest in the world. It is said that the queen then made another 5-ton chandelier, in order to keep the first place in the world, and the chandelier is now still hanging in the Buckingham Palace. The new palace is now also a luxury hotel, and the interior decoration is completed after the Kempinski took over, and the last renovation was in 2007. The decoration style is both simple and elegant, just like in its olden days.   There is no modern luxury decoration on the wall, just some old paintings. The green marble pillars reflect the elegance of the hall, mottled and intriguing. From the high ceiling standing above all three floors, hung another an opulent chandelier, to remind people not to forget the former splendour of the old palace. Around the patio, on the handrail was installed vertically the curvy glass decoration, here, from the adequate lighting of the hall, come the shining glass pillars, together with the golden division in the middle and two sides, the design is simply amazing. The plaster and marble carving patterns on the wall show the traditional Turkish style, the exquisite handmade carpets in the corner also induced a strong feeling that one is somewhere else in Europe.
  On the second floor of the Palace, the side facing the Strait was turned into a traditional Turkish restaurant, the cuisine and service level is as good as Michelin star restaurant in Paris. Sitting by the tableside on the balcony of the palace, backed by the ancient Rome column, while enjoying the view of the other side of the strait and tasting the classic Osman dishes, perhaps you would like to be a Sultan too? No wonder politicians love to stay here, the desire to rule is present in everyone, and the sense of vain just gets stronger in celebrity. Between the hall and hotel building is a large square covering an area of more than two hectares, there you find the lawn, open-air restaurant, swimming pool, cafes scattered among them. In summer evenings, guests stay busy and noisy until after midnight.
  Into the connecting corridor of the new and old buildings, you need to stop at least for half an hour: both sides of the glass windows were covered with old photos and portraits of celebrities, recounting the masters and history of the Ciragan palace, including the luxury interior decoration inside the palace before the fire. One can see on the walls, the Osman-Turkey exquisite carving style; marble columns resumed to their original shapes; also the fire scene, as well as the Ciragan palace fire hydrant over a hundred years ago...... As to why the old building is difficult to retain, in addition to the flammable wooden structure, the lack of fire drill is probably another reason.

  酒店是凯宾斯基品牌,却是土耳其人自己在管理经营,服务很标准、很周到、很贴心,除了不厌其烦的微笑和问好外,更十分注重细节。如果客人外出时房间内有贵重物品,服务员会帮你收进保险箱,给你留个纸条,让你回来后联系安保部门索取密码;如果客人需要服务员来房间送什么东西,但忘记了关掉请勿打扰灯,服务员到了门口也不会直接敲门,而是由前台电话询问你可否去开门……事情虽小,但给客人的感觉很温暖。
  Kempinski is the hotel brand, but the Turkish people are doing the management. The service is standard, thoughtful and intimate, with all the smiles and hellos, and great attention to detail. When the guest go out and leave the valuables behind, the attendant will help put them in the safe, and leave a message, so the guest can contact the security department to obtain the password when they come back; if the guest ask the attendant to send something, but forget to turn off the do not disturb lights, the attendant also won't knock the door directly but ask the front desk to call in and ask if the guests could open the door... Small things like this do give the guests a warm feeling.
  塞拉宫,一个古老的皇宫,一个沁透地域历史的文化艺术窗口,一个管理服务国际化的高档奢华酒店,三者合一,真是得天独厚,令人叹服!今天的土耳其,虽是中东的政治热点,虽是新闻事件的热炒对象,但只有深入其中才知道,这里的文化,这里的艺术,这里的友善,这里的宫殿,哦,还有这里的酒店,是多么多么迷人!
  Ciragan, an ancient palace, a cultural art window of the history and geography, and a high-end luxury hotel with international management service, the combination of the three is most amazing. Turkey today has been the political hotspot of the Middle East, but only when you go deeper and closer, can you know how charming everything is here, the culture, the art, the friendliness, the palace and oh the hotel!
