Digital communications is the mainstream of today’s communications. The book, Digital Transmission of the United States, Bleechter (1990), views modern digital communications as a branch of information theory that “all communications are digital in nature.” This is the most connotation of information theory. The book unifies the principles of the various parts of modern digital communication systems, and the various digital modulation and coding techniques used in the design of digital communications and magnetic recording systems, from the standpoint of information theory. The book is divided into thirteen chapters, the following chapter by chapter for a brief introduction. The first chapter introduction. Describes the various models, features and major research issues of digital communication systems, with particular emphasis on the role of coding and energy allocation and bandwidth compression.
