In the western world, children with hemophilia have nearly normal life after receiving adequate treatment. Children can be diagnosed early, educating families with children at home to prevent, if necessary, alternative treatment at home. With the exception of a handful of inhibitors, many children with hemophilia can go to school or even participate in sports after their treatment. There are few or no hemorrhage in the joint cavity, but the cost of treatment is high. In Sweden, the cost of a preventative factor replacement therapy for a child with hemophilia is estimated at about $ 100,000 a year. However, the national cost of prevention for all children with hemophilia is only 0.2% of their national health budget.
