西野(1918—1990),陕西韩城人,1937年到延安进入中国人民抗日军政大学学习,后留校参加美术宣传工作,曾任中国人民抗日军政大学文艺工作团美术组组长、中南军区政治部《战士画报》社副社长、解放军总政治部美术工作室主任、人民美术出版社画册编辑室副主任等职务。西野是我党军队美术工作的奠基者和新中国成立初期军队美术创作工作的重要组织者,是与我党和军队美术发展紧密相连的宣传工作者和艺术家。在“纪念建军90周年暨第13届全军美展”开幕之际,我们刊发西野的老战友、画家高虹所写的这篇回忆文章,在纪念西野的同时,也希望增进读者对革命战争年代我党和军队美术宣传工作的了解。
Nishino (1918-1990), Shaanxi Hancheng people, Yan’an in 1937 to enter the Chinese People’s Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, after school to participate in art advocacy work, served as art of the Chinese People’s Anti-Japanese Military University Art Group Leader, Central Military Region politics Department “Warrior Pictorial” vice president, PLA General Political Department art studio director, People’s Fine Arts Publishing House album editing room deputy director and other positions. Nishino was the founder of the art work of our party’s army and an important organizer of the art creation work of the army in the early days of the founding of People’s Republic of China and was a propaganda worker and artist closely linked to the development of art of our party and army. At the inauguration of the 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Army and the 13th PLA Art Exhibition, we published a memory article written by Gao Hong, a veteran comrade in the West field, and artist Gao Hong. We also wish to enhance readership while commemorating Nishino Understanding of the Art Propaganda Work of Our Party and Army in the Years of the Revolutionary War.
