Objective To understand the pollution status and drug resistance of Vibrio Parahaemolyticus (VP) in aquatic products in Hebei Province and provide a data basis for early warning of VP foodborne diseases. Methods According to GB / T4789.7-2003, all kinds of aquatic products in Hebei Province were separated by VP and biochemically identified by API20E. Meanwhile, drug resistance monitoring was carried out by paper method. Results 108 strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus were detected in 363 samples, the detection rate was 29.8%. The detection rate decreased from 2005 to 2007, with a statistically significant difference (χ2 = 44.42, P <0.01). Isolates were 100% sensitive to norfloxacin and chloramphenicol, and showed high resistance to ampicillin, streptomycin, sulfonamides and amikacin, and the drug resistance to ampicillin was as high as 94.4%. Conclusion The aquatic product VP in Hebei Province was seriously polluted and continued to reinforce the warning of VP foodborne diseases. At the same time, the management of antibiotic use in aquatic products was strengthened to prevent the spread of drug-resistant strains.
