Those working on laboratory pathogen work and field investigations of infectious diseases can often die of cholera, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, plague, yellow fever, Venezuelan equine encephalitis and rickettsia and other microorganisms. Sulkin et al investigated 1342 laboratory-confirmed cases in the United States, of which 265 were virus-infected with a mortality rate of 4.5%. Since the founding of the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1952, various virus programs have been carried out, and mainly studies on arbovirus have been conducted. This article reports the virus infection in laboratory or field work performed by NIV staff. The major causes of infection are the Kyasanur forest disease KFD virus, the occasional West Nile WN virus, Chikungunya CHIK) virus and Gangan GAN
