Founded in 1926 in Manhattan, New York, by the then famous educator at Columbia University in New York, John Dewey and Hu Shi, a well-known Chinese scholar, Huamei Society is a non-profit private cultural institution. It aims to introduce Chinese culture and civilization through various educational and publicity activities so as to promote mutual understanding between the peoples of China and the United States. Its affiliated China Art Museum is the only art museum in the United States that specializes in Chinese art. Since its inception in 1966, it has held various exhibitions on Chinese culture and the arts and has become a learning center for New York and the world’s favorite Chinese art professionals.
