The degree of satisfaction of residents in water conservation areas with ecological compensation is an important indicator reflecting the difference between the local residents’ own interests and ecological compensation standards in the process of ecological compensation for water sources. The author of this paper selects residents of water conservation areas in 12 cities including Shandong Province as the survey objects. Through questionnaire surveys, interviews with households, etc., they understand the local residents’ satisfaction with the current ecological compensation standards, and use the Probit model to analyze relevant factors. The specific impact on their satisfaction. The results of the study indicate that the older the population in the protected area of the water source, the higher the family’s annual income level, the higher the education level, and the higher the compensation received, the higher their satisfaction with the current compensation; and the residents’ willingness to receive compensation. The stronger and the higher the level of the protected area where the water source is located, the lower its satisfaction with the existing compensation policy.
