明朝前期,政府出于统治的需要,对戏剧采取禁毁、限制为主的政策,导致了明代民间戏剧搬演较之元代而进入了一个低潮期。在明朝中后期,戏禁令的效力开始弱化,同时戏剧教化论得到了更多认同,为戏剧搬演的再度繁荣提供了可能。民间演剧又重新活跃起来,在演出规模、演出场合、演出人群等方面都超过了元代。
In the early period of the Ming Dynasty, due to the need of the government, the government adopted a ban on banning and restricting the theater as the dominant policy. As a result, the performance of folk drama in the Ming Dynasty entered a low tide compared with the Yuan Dynasty. In the middle and late Ming dynasty, the effectiveness of the ban on theater began to be weakened, and at the same time, the theory of theater enlightenment got more recognition and provided the possibility for the re-prosperity of drama performance. The folk drama has rejuvenated, surpassing the Yuan Dynasty in terms of performance scale, performance occasions and performance crowds.
