傩,是中国戏曲史、中国舞蹈史上的一个特殊现象。伴随傩祭而产生和发展的傩面具,源远流长,丰富多彩。在傩戏表演中,面具成了傩戏造型艺术的重要手段,面具在傩祭仪式中的作用也是不容小觑的;同时,面具也是傩戏最为重要、最为典型的道具,演员佩戴面具是傩戏区别于其他戏剧的重要特征,也更易于达到人与神沟通的效果。笔者试图对傩面具的起源、作用、审美意象和变迁等问题进行耙梳,让人们对傩面具有更深层次的了解。
