合成词（portmanteau）是英语中重要的构词方法之一，是由两个或两个以上的语素（词素）组成的词。常见的合成词有合成名词、合成动词、合成形容词等几种类型。framily就是这样一个合成词，它由friends和family两个词合成而来，指很亲近的朋友，尤其指那些亲如家人的朋友。
