拊背扼喉从字面上说,是捺住脊背、掐着喉咙。这个成语比喻控制要害,制敌死命。清化大桥就是越南人的一个咽喉要地,因为炸了桥,越共就不容易向南方运输兵员物资了。虽然老美最后在越南还是输了,但炸毁清化桥在当时确实对缓解老美在南方的危局起了很大作用。
