《罗成》是著名的叶(盛兰)派代表之作。我最后一次看叶盛兰演出的全部《罗成》是在一九五八年,他后来演的戏我再也没看过。“文化大革命”后,盛兰又不幸早逝,想起来实为一大憾事。去年,上海戏剧节邀请北京部队战友京剧团来沪演出,我有幸观摩了叶少兰演出的全部《罗成》,心情非常激动。少兰的表演,从念白的音色、语气到身架表演等,都很象他的父亲——叶盛兰。所以我看着看着,不由得心头涌上一股辛酸和喜悦,仿佛盛兰的秀姿又重现在我跟前。全部《罗成》的表演很吃重,不仅有慷慨悲壮的大段[唢呐二黄][娃娃调]的演唱,而且有繁难的功架表演和长靠、箭衣的武打,“唱、念、做、打”
