Research purposes: The reconstruction and extension project of Guizhou-Guangxi Railway is located in the mountainous area of southwestern China. It crosses Guizhou and Guangxi provinces. The terrain and geology along the route are very complicated. The selection of route options is often severely restricted by the geological conditions. Therefore, Vigorously carry out regional geological line selection work to save engineering investment, reduce geological disasters and engineering diseases, eliminate operational risks are necessary. Research Methods: Based on the full collection of regional geological data, through comprehensive geological exploration, drilling, static exploration and other comprehensive exploration methods to identify major engineering geological problems line selected sections from the geological point of view to determine the line program. Research results: Through the geological conditions of different options necessary to finalize the geological conditions of the line program. Research conclusions: The topography and geology of the southwest mountainous area are complex. The geological conditions along the line should be fully studied in comparison with the alternatives in the route plan, and the complicated and serious geological problems should be avoided. This article systematically introduces some typical and successful geological alignment during the preliminary test phase of the reconstruction and expansion project of Qian-Gui Line, summarizes the major geological problems to be circumvented by the geological alignment, summarizes the route selection, selection conditions and evaluation Opinions can be used as reference for other mountain railway survey and design.
