According to a study by Scientist Horticulturae (January 2012) by researchers at the Islamic University of Medina in Iran, magnetic radiation can improve the resistance of fig-explants to drought. Fig is one of the most important horticultural crops in the world’s arid and semi-arid regions. To study the response of figs to drought stress, the researchers designed a tissue culture experiment in which polyethylene glycol (PEG) at 3 concentrations: 0, 3%, and 6% (W / V)
