2000年2月18日,广渠门外五个工厂的原有用地将进行首批9个地块的公开拍卖。广外五厂总占地面积103公顷,除去现状房屋以外,可规划建筑面积130万平方米左右,该地区现已被分割为21个地块,其中16个有收益地块将进行拍卖,首批拍卖的9块地国,除了1块规划为大型公建与住宅结合,其余的8块全规划为住宅。这次拍卖只是一个开端,今后北京将有大量的工业用地采取这样的办法实现置换。
