It is also a successful example of Sino-foreign offshore oil cooperation. On January 10, 1996, the gas field was put on the celebrations in Beijing. Former U.S. President Bush and his wife were invited to make a special trip to China to attend this grand occasion. President Jiang Zemin, Premier Li Peng and Vice Premier Zou Jiahua respectively met with Mr. Bush and his wife, Chairman Paul Arlington and his wife, and Mohammed Rachmani, chairman of Kuwait’s Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company.
