自1976年以来,在长白山区天然分布的山杨林中筛选出生长快、干形直、材质好的山杨优良变种大叶山杨。1980年引种了欧洲三倍体山杨。1990～1991年,采取不同嫁接形式获得大量优质的三倍体山杨与大叶山杨改良苗。改良苗生长快、抗性强,同时保留了大叶山杨的优良材性和三倍体山杨不结实的特性。
Since 1976, in Changbai Mountain natural distribution of Poplar in the fast growing, dry and straight, good quality poplar good variant Populus euphratica. Improved seedlings grow fast, strong resistance, while retaining the good material of Populus euphratica and triploid aspen not robust features.
