理论上说,广告公司和其客户CEO的薪水应该和绩效有关,但实际情况是细节才是关键。最近广告界有两个人的举动引起了人们的关注,思考经理人的薪酬是否与绩效有关:麦肯世界集团(McCann Worldgroup)CEO约翰·杜纳(John Dooner)和WPP集团CEO马丁·索瑞尔(MartinSorrell)。IPG4月透露说,杜纳即将卸任麦肯CEO职位,将拿到3770万美元。而索瑞尔去年5月制定了一个5年激励计划,会让他净得6000万英镑(9000万美元)。
In theory, the salary of advertising companies and their client CEOs should be related to performance, but the actual situation is that the details are the key. There have been two recent moves in the advertising industry that have drawn attention to whether executive compensation is related to performance: John Dooner, CEO of McCann World Group and Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP Group (MartinSorrell). The IPG revealed in April that Dune will step down from McCann’s CEO position and will receive 37.7 million US dollars. And Sorrell set a five-year incentive plan in May last year that would net him 60 million pounds (90 million U.S. dollars).
