赵翼治史深受考据学风的影响,在治学特色与方法等方面亦与钱大昕、王鸣盛有相同之处。三者相较,钱氏、王氏着意于文字词语的音韵训诂,史料文献的辑校订补,名物掌故的训释疏通,地理典制的梳理考证;而赵翼则怀史学经世的旨趣,善于从宏观角度探求历史时势的变化和盛衰之故,进而阐发史实背后的历史通则。赵翼治史固然独具特色,但与乾嘉考据史学仍为同道,属于乾嘉考据史学的别派。 The history of Zhao Yi is deeply influenced by the style of study. In terms of the characteristics and methods of the study, Zhao Yi also shares some similarities with Qian Daxin and Wang Mingsheng. Compared with the three, Qian, Wang is intended to phonetic transcription of words and phrases, the revision of the school’s historical documents, the interpretation of the famous anecdotes, the research on the geographical system; and Zhao Yi, Good at exploring the changes of the historical trend and the ups and downs of the historical situation from a macro perspective, and then elucidate the historical general rules behind the historical facts. Zhao Yi history of governance is unique, but still with the Ka-chia historical research is still the same, belong to the historical and cultural studies of the Ka-pai school.
